Architecture in Motion

My movie plays with the idea of light and shadow passing between the columns from the windows. The viewer is first presented with a black screen; this darkness is juxtaposed by a white window which symbolises light. As the spectator moves into the window they are confronted by rows of columns stretching into the distance, the light shining through the gaps casts heavy shadows which are then emphasised when they are inked in, then crosshatched with pencil. The last sequence then turns the viewer around to face the window. The columns are photographs not drawn; however through the window drawn columns are visible. This window acts as a junction between the world of reality and drawings.

Model Making

I created this space which was a novel way of creating privacy and gaining a view by elevating a room on top of a tower. The room was supposed to act as a private thinking room where one can retire to look out over the ocean to read/think/relax.

I also added some red LED lights inside to add to the effect.
